NEW PLAY EQUIPMENT FOR HACKLETON RECREATION GROUND

NEW PLAY EQUIPMENT FOR HACKLETON RECREATION GROUND

The Parish Council is delighted to confirm that the new play equipment will officially open for use on Friday 4th August. This is an amazing facility for our children which offers high play value with more than 50 activities for children 0-12 years.

The equipment has been carefully chosen taking into account feedback from children and adults from around the parish and caters for all abilities and individual confidence levels. Much of the equipment offers inclusivity and accessibility including the junior multiunit which features wheelchair accessible games and play value, the basket swing enables all children the opportunity to swing and the mirage seat on the titan spinner is designed at a 30-degree angle which naturally positions the body to sit comfortably, its design is to represent a rally car or fighter pilot seat, and a harness can be fitted to it for added security of its passenger.

The design and colour scheme of the whole play area sits well in the rural location whilst offering the best visibility for those that are visually impaired.

As a nod to our history the slide and rocking horse have been retained as we know that multiple generations have thoroughly enjoyed playing on them over many years. The mound on which the slide fits has been enhanced for play value and a scramble net and hill rope climber now provide additional fun.

To top it all we have a zip wire for the thrill of gliding through the air and the giant Viper - an inline rope swing that requires both teamwork and balance.

We hope that you will agree that this is another great addition to our Parish.
