Groundsman Job Advert



Hackleton Parish Council is seeking to appoint a Parish Grounds Person whose role within the Parish will result in improvements to the parish environment and Parish Council owned lands, assets, and open spaces, including the following:-

  • Removal & control of weeds and vegetation
  • Grass cutting
  • Strimming
  • Graffiti removal
  • Gardening
  • Street furniture installation and maintenance
  • Grounds Inspections
  • Pruning of trees / hedgerows
  • Fly posting removal
  • Checking and maintenance of public rights of way
  • To clear away vegetation from streetlights
  • Sign cleaning
  • To report to the Parish Clerk faults, safety defects, potholes, fly tipping, faulty street lights, blocked drains and abandoned vehicles
  • And any other duties / tasks delegated to the postholder by the Parish Clerk, as considered appropriate to the post

Typically working 10 hours a week, the ideal candidate will be physically fit, have experience of operating machinery, aware of health and safety and hazard requirements and enjoy working outside in all weathers and seasons on their own initiative, and alone.

The rate of pay is £11.00 per hour.
