Neighbourhood Plan Latest!
Members of the Parish Council met last night to plan the first stages of making the Plan. It was decided that we arrange visits to Councils that have successfully completed Plans, to discover how they started, who was involved, and so on. While there are several guides now on 'How to do a Neighbourhood Plan', they miss out what we need to know and do at this stage.

New Chairman

New Chair of the Parish Council!

Following the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council on May 2nd, Roy Hawkesford is the new chair of Hackleton Parish Council.

Roy was elected to the council in May 2015 and has been chair of the planning committee for the past year, Highways Warden, member of the HR working party, and assisting the clerk in the development of the website. Neighbourhood Plan latest!

We are formally in contact with SNC and, by the end of the week, will have registered our intention to make a Neighbourhood Plan. We will have designated the whole of Hackleton Parish as the Neighbourhood Area, stated the rationale for our bid, and confirmed that this will be carried out under the supervision of the Parish Council. SNC will assign an officer to this and the work can commence, starting with the formation of a working group.. Read More »

At a meeting on Tuesday 18th April, a meeting took place at the Village Hall, Hackleton, to discuss the need for a Neighbourhood Plan. A Neighbourhood Plan is seen as the most
effective way to stave off hostile developments that might threaten the villages and the countryside; it is seen also as a way of involving the whole community to decide on the

Housing White Paper

Housing White Paper

At last, the end of the beginning is here: we have the long-awaited Housing White Paper, aka Fixing our broken housing market. Quoting Churchill might seem a little extreme but with the frenzy of press stories on Green Belt, new settlements and developers over the past few weeks, it seems odd to think we hadn't even seen the paper itself until yesterday.
