New Chairman

New Chair of the Parish Council!

Following the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council on May 2nd, Roy Hawkesford is the new chair of Hackleton Parish Council.

Roy was elected to the council in May 2015 and has been chair of the planning committee for the past year, Highways Warden, member of the HR working party, and assisting the clerk in the development of the website. Neighbourhood Plan latest!

We are formally in contact with SNC and, by the end of the week, will have registered our intention to make a Neighbourhood Plan. We will have designated the whole of Hackleton Parish as the Neighbourhood Area, stated the rationale for our bid, and confirmed that this will be carried out under the supervision of the Parish Council. At last, the end of the beginning is here: we have the long-awaited Housing White Paper, aka Fixing our broken housing market. Quoting Churchill might seem a little extreme but with the frenzy of press stories on Green Belt, new settlements and developers over the past few weeks, it seems odd to think we hadn't even seen the paper itself until yesterday.
